Kingston Police seek to identify suspect involved in three thefts in one day

Kingston Police have released the above images taken from security camera footage and are asking for the public’s assistance to identify the person pictured, the suspect in three thefts that occurred on the same day in mid-February.

According to police, the incidents all occurred on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024. That day, at approximately 2 p.m., the suspect “entered a business located in the area of” Barrack and King Streets. While police did not identify the business, the images pulled from security cameras suggest the theft took place at the downtown LCBO location on Barrack Street.

“The suspect proceeded to steal over $500 worth of merchandise from the business before leaving,” Kingston Police said in a press release on Monday, Mar. 4, 2024.

But the suspect was not finished targeting that business, according to police, who said the suspect then “returned to the business less than an hour later and stole approximately another $500 worth of merchandise.”

Still, the suspect wasn’t done this spree of thefts. About an hour after the initial theft – and a half hour after the second – the suspect returned to the business a third time at approximately 3 p.m. Again, the suspect stole approximately $500 worth of merchandise, according to Kingston Police.

Police described the suspect as being Caucasian and approximately 50 to 60 years of age. The suspect stands approximately 5’4” (162.6 cm) tall with a small build, a shaved head, and a partial beard. At the time of the incidents in question, the suspect was wearing a back Calvin Klein jacket with the ‘CK’ logo on it, a blue dress shirt, dark pants, and black shoes, as well as a pair of dark-rimmed eyeglasses.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of this individual is asked to contact Constable Andrew Sullivan via email at [email protected].
