Kingston Police seek next of kin following fatal accident on Perth Road

Kingston Police have now released the name of the cyclist killed in an early morning collision on Perth Road earlier this month.
The accident occurred at approximately 2:55 a.m. on Perth Road between McAdoo’s Lane and Burbrook Road, when a vehicle and cyclist collided on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019. According to Kingston Police, the cyclist, Charles Vautrin, passed away as a result of his injuries.
Vautrin, an employee at Amey’s Taxi, had been on his way to work at the time. Currently, Kingston Police are still attempting to locate Vautrin’s next of kin.
“We are asking that anyone with information in regards to the next of kin for this individual to please call Kingston Police at 613-549-4660,” said Const. Ashley Gutheinz, media relations officer for Kingston Police.
Because the investigation into the incident is still ongoing, Kingston Police are not able to release any information regarding whether or not charges were laid as a result of the collision. Gutheinz was able to confirm, however, that the female youth driver involved was arrested.
The accident resulted in the closure of Perth Road for 12 hours as collision reconstructionists investigated the scene.
