Kingston Police seek assistance to identify parcel thief

A thief made off with multiple parcels from inside an apartment building after an unknown tenant let him through the locked door. Kingston Police have released images and are requesting assistance to identify the suspect.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 the male suspect attended an apartment building in downtown Kingston and obtained entry through the front locked door with the assistance of an unknown tenant, according to a release from Kingston Police, dated Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021. Once inside, the suspect stole multiple parcels which had been delivered to various tenants in the building.

The suspect was captured on the buildings security video and appears to be a slim to medium build Caucasian male, according to the release. Police say he was wearing a red hat and a jacket/hoodie with a black upper portion and designs on the bottom half. He was wearing dark runners with white laces and a distinctive white coloured area on the front inner portion of the shoe extending to the toe.

Kingston Police is reminding tenants of apartment buildings throughout the city to use caution when buzzing in or allowing strangers access through locked main entry doors. Once inside criminals can use this as an opportunity to steal parcels and mail and can also break into basement storage lockers or individual dwelling units.
