Kingston Police seek assistance to identify downtown shoplifting suspect

Kingston Police have released the above images and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in a shoplifting case where a bulletproof vest, two paintball guns, and other items were stolen from Smith Army Surplus.

According to a release from Kingston Police, at approximately 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 23, 2024, the suspect entered the business, located at 86 Princess Street, and proceeded to steal a bulletproof vest and two paintball guns, which were stored in a locked cabinet.

“The suspect remained in the store for approximately 20 minutes during which time they stole some additional items of apparel before departing,” Kingston Police detailed.

In the release, police described the suspect as Caucasian, clean-shaven, with a medium build, and dark hair in the style of a brush cut.

At the time of the incident, the suspect was reportedly wearing a light blue hat with “FOX” written on the front. The suspect was also wearing a dark blue jacket with a grey top, blue jeans, and dark shoes, and carrying a black backpack at the time of the incident.
