Kingston Police seek assistance to identify alleged jewelry thief

Kingston Police have released the above images and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a theft from a local jewelry store.

According to a release from Kingston Police, on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the suspect entered a jewelry store located inside the Cataraqui Center. Reportedly, the suspect was being served by a staff member when they suddenly grabbed the items the staff member was showing them and fled from the store.

Police said that the suspect ran the entire length of the mall and fled out the west upper-level doors.

In the release, the suspect is described as being Black, 20 to 30 years old, 6’3 (190.5 cm) tall, weighing 160 lbs (72.5 kg) with a slim build.

“The suspect had a partial beard and was wearing eyeglasses. At the time of the incident the suspect was wearing a multi colour do-rag, a collared blue shirt, blue track pants and royal blue high top Nike shoes. The suspect was also wearing a gold chain with a round gold pendant,” police detailed.
