Kingston Police request public’s assistance in identifying downtown robbery suspect

Kingston Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in a downtown Kingston robbery.

Police say that on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021 at approximately 1:42 p.m. an unknown armed male suspect entered the New Merry Market at Barrie Street and Earl Street in downtown Kingston.

According to police, the male walked through the store before approaching the cashier and demanding money from the cash drawer. When the cashier was unable to open the cash drawer, the male allegedly took the entire cash drawer and fled from the store.

The male was last seen getting into the passenger side of a previously stolen green Honda CRV with Ontario licence plate CFYC664 that fled the area west bound on Earl Street.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying this individual or any other persons that may be involved.
