Kingston Police request assistance to identify axe-wielding suspect

Kingston Police have released the above photo and are asking for public assistance in identifying the male pictured, a suspect involved in smashing a vehicle window with a large axe.

According to Kingston Police, the incident occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021 when, at approximately 8:45 a.m., the suspect was captured by a video camera mounted in a vehicle in a Brock Street parking lot downtown. In the video, the suspect was observed looking around the parking lot while standing next to a vehicle. The suspect had a large axe in his hands, which he then used to smash out the passenger’s side front window of the vehicle. With the glass shattered, the suspect leaned forward and looked inside the vehicle before leaving the scene.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male and was wearing a black ball cap and a blue coat with light grey or white piping and accents.
