Kingston Police make arrest in connection with home invasion in April

Earlier this month, Kingston Police released images and video of a suspect involved in a home invasion in late April 2022, asking for assistance to identify the suspect. An arrest has now been made in connection with this incident.
The break and enter occurred at a residence on Joseph Street at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, Apr. 28, 2022. During the home invasion, a resident at the address – a female senior citizen – was assaulted. She was subsequently taken to hospital, and has since been released, according to a press release from Kingston Police on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.
Today, Thursday, May 12, 2022, Kingston Police issued a release informing the public that an arrest has been made in relation to the home invasion.
According to the release, on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, a 35-year-old individual was charged with:
- Robbery,
- Assault causing bodily harm, and
- Break and enter – two counts.
The Kingston Police Forensic Identification Unit was instrumental in identifying the individual who was already in custody on unrelated charges, according to the release. The accused is scheduled to appear in court today, Thursday, May 12, 2022.
