Kingston Police make arrest after delivery driver robbed, attacked in downtown Kingston

Kingston Police arrested and charged an individual who allegedly robbed and attacked a delivery driver in downtown Kingston.

According to a release from Kingston Police, at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, the robbery occurred in the area of Alfred Street and York Street.

“A delivery driver had attended this location and was standing outside of their delivery van when the accused entered through the unlocked rear doors of the vehicle. The accused proceeded to grab several packages from the vehicle and then tried to leave the area,” Kingston Police detailed.

“The delivery driver confronted the accused and attempted to recover the stolen packages, at which time the accused became aggressive and punched the driver and then attempted to headbutt them.”

Police stated that the accused then fled from the scene on foot.

According to the release, officers were called to the scene and, after garnering further information from the victim regarding the incident, proceeded to search the area for the accused. At approximately 1:30 p.m. police located the accused sitting in front of a store in the area of Princess Street and Montreal Street.

The accused was subsequently arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were held to attend a bail hearing, according to police.

Talon Ogden, a 33-year-old local individual, was charged with robbery while using violence and breach of probation.
