Kingston Police looking to speak with person who intervened during sexual assault

Kingston Police are hoping to identify and speak with someone they referred to as “a Good Samaritan,” after they intervened during a sexual assault.

The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2023, when the victim, a lone female, attended the parking lot of an apartment building in the 200 block of Queen Mary Road.

“She was suddenly approached by a group of males who proceeded to sexually assault her,” Kingston Police said in a press release on Tuesday, Jun. 6, 2023.

“A Good Samaritan who had been walking southbound on Queen Mary Road observed the assault and intervened by yelling at the suspects, resulting in them fleeing from the scene on foot northbound towards Bath Road.”

Police described the intervenor as a Caucasian male, possibly in his 50s, with black hair.

“Investigating officers would like to speak with this Good Samaritan, who intervened during the assault, as he may be able to provide further information that could prove valuable to the police investigation,” Kingston Police expressed.
