Update: identified – Kingston Police looking to identify person of interest in theft case

Update (Thursday, Mar. 30, 2023 at 1:45 p.m.):
Less than three hours after requesting public assistance to identify a person of interest, Kingston Police got their answer.

“The Kingston Police wish to thank the public for their assistance in this matter. The person of interest has been identified and investigators will continue to investigate the incident,” Constable Anthony Colangeli, Acting Media Relations Officer, said in an update to the media on Thursday, Mar. 30, 2023.

Kingstonist has removed the photo of the person of interest, as they have now been identified.

Kingston Police have released the above photo and are requesting help from the public to identify the female pictured, a person of interest in an ongoing theft investigation.

According to police, the theft occurred in the area of Princess and Division Streets. At approximately 2:15 a.m. on Monday, Mar. 20, 2023, the victim discovered her jacket had been stolen. At the time of the theft, the victim’s identification, bank cars, and headphones were in the jacket, police said.

Shortly after the theft, the victim’s debit card was used at several local businesses. Security cameras at one of those businesses captured footage of a person involved in the use of the victim’s debit card, as pictured above.

The person of interest has long, dark hair, and was wearing a black Columbia jacket, black pants, a green crop top, and hoop earrings at the time the debit card was used.
