Kingston Police lay multiple charges for drugs and firearms offences


A man and a woman from Kingston, along with two men from Toronto, are facing a laundry list of charges after police discovered three people in a vehicle with drugs and weapons.
The investigation began on Friday, Apr. 24, 2020 when members of the Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit arrested one Kingston man and two men from Toronto. Assisted by members of the Kingston Police Emergency Response Unit, officers arrested the males in a vehicle on Bagot Street in downtown Kingston. The three men were found to be in possession of 56.7 grams of cocaine, 15.3 grams of methamphetamine, and a sawed off shotgun with ammunition. All three of the men were charged with numerous drug- and firearm- related offences.
As the investigation continued, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the west end of Kingston. On Friday, May 1, 2020, officers located additional firearms, ammunition, and a conducted energy weapon (Taser) at the residence.
The 27-year-old Kingston man, who was involved in the April 24 arrest, was charged with:
- Careless storage of a firearm
- Careless storage of ammunition
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- Possession of a prohibited weapon by an unlicenced person
- Unlawful possession of a Schedule 1 substance
- Failure to comply with release conditions
Additionally, a 55-year-old Kingston woman was charged with:
- Careless storage of a firearm
- Careless storage of ammunition
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- Possession of a prohibited weapon by an unlicenced person
- Unlawful possession of a Schedule 1 substance
