Update: deceased male identified – Kingston Police investigating shooting, homicide

Update (Monday, Oct. 18, 2021):
Kingston Police have released the name of the deceased male involved in the homicide that occurred near Sydenham Road and Highway 401 on the night of Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021.
According to police, the deceased male has been identified as Carl-Alen Delphin, also known as Lito, a 20-year-old Ottawa-based rapper. The second male victim, age 29, is currently in ICU with life threatening injuries and is also from the Ottawa area.
“Detectives from the Major Crime Unit are aware that several vehicles were in the area at the time of the incident and would like witnesses to come forward including persons with vehicle dash cameras,” Kingston Police said in a press release just after 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021.

Kingston Police Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred near Sydenham Road and Highway 401, on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at around 7:15pm.
“Upon being called to the scene, police and other emergency services located a deceased male, and rushed a second male to Kingston General Hospital with life-threatening injuries,” said Kingston Police in a press release.

Police say that at present, the identity of the deceased male is unknown.
Police also say that investigators believe the incident could be associated to a previous shooting which occurred the previous evening, on Theresa Crescent, at around 8:20pm.

20 years old and dead. Why? Some ridiculous drama? The reason doesn’t matter, a 20 year old man is in the morgue and another is in ICU fighting for his life. My heart hurts for the families.
