Kingston Police investigating reports of firearm discharge

In mid-July, Kingston Police were called to the 1000 block of Johnson Street after reports of a firearm being discharged were received. Police said it appears to be an isolated incident, but are continuing to investigate, and would like to hear from anyone with information on this incident.

At approximately 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July.14, 2021, officers attended the location and spoke with witnesses who reported hearing two to three gunshots. According to a release from Kingston Police, dated Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, witnesses had also observed a dark coloured sedan and another dark coloured vehicle, possibly a van, leaving the area immediately afterwards. These vehicles had been last seen travelling eastbound on Johnson Street towards Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard at a high rate of speed.

Police canvassed the area and after further investigation, said this appears to have been an isolated incident. According to the release, no one was injured during this incident nor was any property damaged.
