Kingston Police investigating fatal collision involving pedestrian

Update (Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2021): Kingston Police have now identified the deceased pedestrian. Ivan Lockyer, 71, passed away as a result of the injuries sustained during this accident.

A local 71-year-old pedestrian has succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:38 p.m. on Princess Street, just west of McMichael Street, and resulted in a closure of westbound lanes in that area for several hours as the Kingston Police Traffic Safety Unit carried out investigations.

The roadway was completely reopened as of 8:38 p.m. that evening. Kingston Police say that the investigation into the tragic accident is ongoing.
