Kingston Police investigating downtown stabbing

Kingston Police say that no arrests have been made yet and they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding a stabbing in downtown Kingston on the early morning of Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022.
Kingston Police, Frontenac Paramedics and Kingston Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the area near the Metro grocery store at the corner of Princess Street and Barrie Street at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
There, responders found a male, bleeding and having apparently been stabbed.

Following inquiries, Kingston Police Media Relations Officer Ash Gutheinz told the Kingstonist that, after being treated on scene by paramedics, the male was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Gutheinz further added that no suspect has been arrested in relation to the incident at this time, and that the investigation remains ongoing. Police did not confirm whether the assailant or assailants have been identified.
