Kingston Police investigating death at north-end apartment building

Police tape remains blocking off an area of a north-end apartment building in Kingston as police carry out an ongoing investigation involving the death of one individual.
Kingston Police taped off a section of the apartment building located at 294 Conacher Drive in the Rideau Heights neighbourhood in the early evening hours of Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, according to those living in the area. Police had been dispatched to the address hours earlier when they were called in to assist paramedics. What police were assisting paramedics with remains unknown at this time, as Kingston Police are disclosing little information on the matter due to the “ongoing investigation.” Police are often called to assist paramedics for a variety of different reasons.
Police did confirm, however, that they remain on scene at the apartment building today, Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, “in relation to a death investigation.”
“[The investigation is ongoing and awaiting post-mortem examination (autopsy) results,” Const. Anthony Colangeli, Urban Foot Patrol Unit and Media Relations Officer for Kingston Police, said in an email to Kingstonist.
Asked whether police consider the death to be suspicious in nature, whether the individual was located deceased, and if there is a suspect that remains at large, Conlangeli said he was unable to speak to those question due to the ongoing investigation. Even so, Colangeli did state that there is no risk to public safety in relation to the case.
This is a developing story with more to come. Kingstonist will continue to provide coverage if/when more information becomes available.
