Kingston Police intercept nearly $90k in crystal meth, cocaine

The Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit has arrested a local man in connection with the trafficking of illicit drugs, primarily crystal methamphetamine, police said.
The arrest took place on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021 as the result of an ongoing investigation within the downtown area of Kingston. That investigation led to the search of a Kingston residence, where Drug Enforcement Unit officers located a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine, a quantity of cocaine, hydro-morphine pills, Canadian currency, and other items associated with drug trafficking. The total street value of the seizure is estimated at nearly $90,000, Kingston Police said in a press release on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021.
The 36-year-old Kington man arrested is charged with three counts of possession of illegal drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, and failure to comply with a release order.
