Kingston Police confirm Perth Road collision resulted in cyclist fatality

A serious collision that took place on Perth Road in the early morning on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019 resulted in the death of a cyclist, Kingston Police have now reported.

Police responded to the scene of a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist that occurred at approximately 2:55 a.m. on Perth Road between McAdoo’s Lane and Burbrook Road. Unfortunately, the cyclist involved succumbed to injuries and passed away, Const. Ashely Gutheinz, media relations officer for Kingston Police explained.

Police remained on the scene with an collision reconstructionist team for 12 hours investigating the incident, and Perth Road remained closed for those 12 hours.

The name, gender, and identity of the deceased is not being released pending notification of next of kin. It is unknown whether or not any charges will be laid, as the investigation is still ongoing.
