Kingston Police Association advising of possible fundraising phone scam

The Kingston Police Association is advising the community that Kingston Police have received at least one call earlier this week regarding the legitimacy of a fundraiser for Families of Wounded or Fallen Officers.

According to a release from Kingston Police, no such fundraiser exists. “The most current fundraiser the Kingston Police Association initiated was in early 2020 and has always involved Children’s Safety Handbooks,” police said. “If you receive a call from an individual claiming to be a member of the Kingston Police Association, hang up immediately and call the Kingston Police at 613-549-4660.”
