Kingston Police arrest local, seize drugs with street value of $60K

A local individual has been arrested after a Kingston Police investigation into information received by the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit regarding a female actively involved in the sale/distribution of fentanyl within the city.

According to a release from Kingston Police, over the course of the past month, Street Crime Units received information about the female.

“An investigation was commenced culminating in a traffic stop in the area of Portsmouth Avenue and Johnson Street on April 19, 2024,” Kingston Police detailed. “During a search, incident to arrest, officers located in her possession a large quantity of multi-coloured fentanyl (packaged for sale), crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine as well as a large quantity of Canadian currency.”

Ashley Anthis, a 39-year-old individual who resides locally, was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime (Canadian currency).

Kingston Police said that investigators discovered that this individual was currently on a previous release order for several counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, weapons dangerous, and possession of proceeds of crime. She was held pending a bail hearing at 705 Division Street.

According to the release, the following were seized during the arrest:

  • 246.4 grams of fentanyl
  • 9.5 grams of crack cocaine
  • 9.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • Large quantity of Canadian currency

Kington Police said the street value of the above is $63,490
