Kingston Polar Plunge to raise money for Special Olympics Ontario

Kingston Police are hosting the annual Kingston Polar Plunge next month, and invite everyone to help raise awareness and funds for the athletes and families of Special Olympics Ontario.
This non-profit organization helps provide quality sports and training programs for children, youth and adults with an intellectual disability that are only possible through the generous donations that are raised at events such as the Polar Plunge, Kingston Police said in a media release dated Monday, Jan. 16, 2023.
The goal for this year’s plunge is to raise $40,000 for Special Olympics Ontario. Kingston Police will again have a dedicated team to get #FreezinForAReason, and ask the public to register themselves or a team, or offer donations in support of those already jumping in to brave the cold.
In partnership with the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run (OLETR), the 2023 Kingston Polar Plunge will take place at Confederation Place Hotel, 237 Ontario St, on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023.
For those participating, registration is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Confederation Place Hotel at 1 Brock Street. The actual plunging will take place on Crawford Wharf at the bottom of Brock Street at 12 p.m.
Kingston Police encourage spectators to attend and cheer on the plungers. Visit https://soopolarplunge.crowdchange.ca/27718 for more information, and to register or donate.
