Kingston man who assaulted pregnant fiancé arrested for domestic assault, threatening newborn

A local man has been arrested and charged as the result of Kingston Police investigating information regarding a domestic assault in the summer of 2018.

Police obtained information that the 2018 assault had occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, according to a press release from Kingston Police. The police then learn that an altercation had occurred between the accused man and a female victim, who was pregnant at the time. During that fight, the accused man pulled the victim to the ground and sat on top of her. Police say the two had been in a relationship for approximately a year at the time, and were engaged.

Police then obtained further information indicating that once the couple’s baby was born, the accused had made threats to punch and harm the newborn because the infant was crying so often.

Police attended the couple’s residence and arrested the accused man. The 24-year-old Kingston man was charged with assault and uttering threats.
