Kingston man charged with impaired driving after rollover on Highway 401

A local man is facing charges after police determined he was impaired by alcohol following a crash on Highway 401 over the weekend.
The incident occurred on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, just after 2 a.m. Officers with the Lennox and Addington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a pickup truck rollover on the eastbound lanes of the highway between Desoronto Road and Beechwood Road, west of Napanee.
When police arrived, other motorists were assisting the driver of the pickup truck at the scene. As a result, Kenneth Ferguson, 37, of Kingston, has been charged with:
- Impaired operation of a motor vehicle (alcohol)
- Operation of a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 mg or over
Additionally, Ferguson’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. The accused will be responsible for all related fees and fines. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
