Kingston man charged following string of sexual harassment and assault incidents

After receiving reports of an unknown male yelling at and touching female victims across two days, Kingston Police issued a press release to alert the public.

Less than half an hour later, police provided an update on the matter: the male suspect in the case had been arrested.

According to police, the male suspect approached female victims, yelled at them aggressively, and touched them during several incidents that occurred in Kingston’s downtown core on Sunday, Nov. 5 and Monday, Nov. 6, 2023. These incidents were sexually related, police said in a press release issued on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023.

Within the hour, Kingston Police followed up via email to say that that the suspect involved in the series of assaults had been identified and subsequently arrested. At that time, the accused man was in police custody, and there was “no threat to public safety,” police said.

In response to further inquiries from Kingstonist, police disclosed that a 24-year-old man from Kingston is being held at Kingston Police headquarters pending a bail hearing on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023. He is charged with six counts of sexual assault.
