Kingston man charged after thefts at Sydenham LCBO

A local man is facing charges after multiple thefts at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) store in Sydenham, South Frontenac Township.
According to the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers from that detachment received several complaints regarding the theft of alcohol from the Sydenham LCBO location between Tuesday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019.
In response, police interviewed several store employees, and went over photos and video from the store security cameras. From those efforts, the OPP officers were able to confirm the identity of the person of interest.
As a result of the ensuing investigation, William Freeman, 58, of Kingston was charged with three counts of theft under $5,000. Freeman was released on an appearance notice to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston at a later date to answer to the charges.
