Kingston man charged after brandishing knife in downtown business

It was hardly a regular day of shopping for one Kingstonian when a man entered the store he was in and threatened him while holding a knife.
The incident occurred at a downtown business at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019. The accused man entered the business in an agitated state, and was holding a knife. The accused man then began to yell at the male victim, as well as another female patron. The victim was threatened with death after trying to intervene and calm the accused man. Finally, the accused left the area and the incident was reported to police.
Police responded and, upon further investigation, located and arrested the accused man at a downtown residence.
A 34-year-old local man was charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and possession of weapons dangerous to public peace.
