Kingston man arrested for impaired driving after collision on Highway 15

A local man has been arrested and charged after a single-vehicle collision occurred in Kingston’s east end earlier this week.
On Tuesday Oct. 22, 2019 shortly after 1 a.m. the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 15 north of Highway 401.
The ensuing investigation found that the driver of the vehicle was impaired by alcohol. As a result, James Allen, 37, of Kingston was charged with impaired driving and having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood while operating a motor vehicle.
The Allen’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused man will be responsible for all related fees and fines. Allen was later released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston at a later date.
