Kingston man arrested for child luring offences

A local man is facing litany of charges after a Kingston Police investigation into the attempted luring of a 13-year-old girl.

Police began the investigation on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, and found that, starting in December of 2018, the accused man had been sending numerous messages to the victim through social media, attempting to illicit a sexual relationship.

On Wednesday, Jan. 16, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the west end of Kingston. Multiple digital devices and data storage media were seized for further examination.

A 36-year-old Kingston man was arrested and charged with sexual assault, telecommunication with a person under 16 years of age for criminal offences, telecommunications with a person under 18 years of age for criminal offences, and attempting to make child pornography.
