Kingston man arrested for break and enter, mischief

A local man who was caught on security video trying to break into a bike storage unit in the lobby of a Kingston apartment building has subsequently been identified, located and arrested by Kingston Police.
The initial incident occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, when at approximately 12:07 a.m., the accused man was recorded on security video entering the main lobby of an apartment building in Kingston’s west end. The accused man was seen repeatedly trying to pry open the door on a bicycle storage unit in the lobby of the building. The accused man was then interrupted, and was seen on security video exiting the building. Police were called and responding officers reviewed the security footage. Further investigation led the officers to identify the accused man as an individual that was currently on probation.
Police then located the accused man at a west end motel on Friday, Feb. 8. The man was arrested, but during the arrest the accused man became violent with police, attempting to flee custody several times, according to Kingston Police.
The 37-year-old Kingston man was charged with breaking and entering, mischief, and breach of probation.
