Kingston man arrested for arson following truck fire at Seven Oaks Motel

Kingston Police responded to a call regarding a suspicious vehicle fire at a west end motel, resulting in the arrest and charging of a local man.
Police were called to the Seven Oaks Motel at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019. There, Kingston Fire and Rescue had already attended to put out the fire, which had fully engulfed the box of a truck and its contents. Additionally, the fire had melted the rear window of the truck.
After reviewing security video of the parking lot of the motel and some further investigation, police found that the accused man, who was staying in one of the motel’s rooms, was responsible for the truck catching fire.
Police located the accused man at 9:10 p.m. that day. The 55-year-old was arrested and charged with arson.
