Gananoque Police arrested a man from Kingston last week after he injured another man with a piece of equipment during an argument.

On Tuesday, Jun. 6, 2023, Gananoque Police responded to a 911 call at a business on King Street East. One man had been injured and required paramedic assistance, police were told. Upon arrival at the business, officers learned that the victim had been approached by another male, and a “verbal argument” ensued, Gananoque Police said in a press release a few days later.

As the argument escalated, the accused man drove a power lift – a piece of heavy machinery used for lifting pallets and other large items – into the victim, leaving the victim with injuries.

As a result, the 53-year-old Kingston man was charged with assault with a weapon, according to Gananoque Police. The accused man was later released on an ‘appearance notice,” and is scheduled to appear in court on a later date.
