It was an exciting weekend for Paige Cassidy, a local gymnast who represented Team Ontario at the Eastern Canadian Gymnastics Championships from Thursday, May 9 to Sunday, May 12, 2019.

Cassidy, who trains at Trillium Gymnastics here in Kingston, and her fellow members of Team Ontario, won gold in the Level 7 Open Category at the Championships in PEI. Cassidy herself brought home the gold medal in addition to placing 4th All Around in her events — placing 5th on Vault, 7th on Uneven Bars, 6th on Balance Beam and 5th on Floor Exercise.

“Congratulations, Paige! Your hard work, dedication and perseverance have allowed you to achieve amazing personal success this season. We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments,” said Shelly Lee, Head Coach at Trillium Gymnastics.

“We would also like to wish the best of luck to our Level 3-5 Gymnasts that have qualified for Provincials. We can’t wait to see all of you sparkle and shine!”
