Kingston Grandmother Connection to hold Mother Earth Mini Market

Editorial note: The following is a submitted article from Kingston Grandmother Connection regarding their Mother Earth Mini Market fundraiser event.
Earth Day, Mother’s Day and the Kingston Grandmother Connection are aligned to bring you a mini-market version of our annual fall market. Everything for sale will have been pre-loved, pre-owned, come from nature or celebrate nature. There will be ladies wear, jewellery, little girls dresses, sand glass creations, nature photo cards, eco products, plants, and the always popular African baskets. All great gifts for mothers young and not so young!
We are pleased to welcome Earthub to our market where you can learn about their environmental initiatives.
The Kingston Grandmother Connection supports the Stephen Lewis Foundation and Help Lesotho. Both organizations strive to help grandmothers and their families and those living in poverty through projects that enhance skill building, resilience, health care, parenting and healthy relationships.
Two Kingston grandmothers recently made a trip to Lesotho to meet groups of African grandmothers and other family members participating in and benefitting from the programs and projects being offered through Help Lesotho. They came away both impressed and delighted with the impact these programs are making and humbled by the gratitude shown.
The Kingston Grandmother Connection is grateful for the support of the Kingston community in all our fundraising events, from our fall market to plant sales to yard sales. We look forward to seeing old friends and new ones at our Mother Earth Mini Market.

The Mother Earth Mini Market will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at St. John’s Anglican Church, located at 41 Church Street in Portsmouth Village, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
If you miss the mini market, there will be another opportunity to view support us at the Ontario Guild of English Handbell Ringers festival at St. Lawrence College where the KGC will have a market stall on June 2 and 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with all your favourite items.
