The Board of Directors of the Kingston & District Agricultural Society have made the difficult decision to postpone the full 190th Kingston Fall Fair to 2022. While the situation is far different from this time last year, the board said they still feel they would not be able to manage the lead up events and the full fair in a safe manner.

“It is with regret that we have to announce the postponement of the 190th Kingston Fall Fair until 2022,” said Kevin Clarke, Marketing and Communications Volunteer, Kingston & District Agricultural Society Kingston Fall Fair. “The board recognizes that the situation surrounding COVID-19 is still evolving. With the current rules and guidelines and the difficulty in projecting conditions between now and September, we would be unable to safely manage the preparations required to host the Fair.”

Some alternative programming is in the works for September, Clarke shared. “We are working on an alternative that we are calling the ‘Kingston Fall Fair 2021 Showcase’ that will include some of our key contests, our popular colouring contest, and some charitable donations. We are finalizing details on this event currently and more information will be available in due time,” he said.

The showcase will include competitions in culinary arts, flowers and vegetables, photography and homecrafts. There will also be a virtual talent contest and fun giveaways on social media and through community broadcast partners, according to a release from the The Kingston and District Agricultural Society Board of Directors, dated Tuesday, Apr. 20, 2021.

The board said they are working hard to finalize plans for the Kingston Fall Fair 2021 Showcase, and more information will be shared when it’s available. Follow their Facebook page and visit the Kingston Fall Fair website for more details as they are announced.
