A Kingston resident is facing charges after numerous traffic complaints in the Seeley’s Bay area.

Just after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to numerous complaints of a driver observed driving erratically, in and out of the ditch along Highway 15, Rideau Lakes Township, according to a report from the OPP.

Police said witnesses reported seeing the driver stop in Seeley’s Bay and exit the vehicle. At this time the driver was observed stumbling on foot for a short time before entering the vehicle and becoming mobile again, according to the report. Further information received from the public allowed officers to locate the driver and vehicle on Lyndhurst Road.

The vehicle was parked on the wrong side of the road after reportedly coming close to striking multiple mobile vehicles. Further investigation revealed the license plate on the vehicle did not belong to that vehicle.

A 45 year old from Kingston was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Operation while prohibited;
  • Dangerous operation;
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle; and
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on July 9, 2021 to answer to the charges
