Kingston driver facing charges after refusing to provide breath sample

A 40-year-old Kingston driver refused to comply with a “breath demand” when members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle stopped on County Road 4 in Stone Mills Township.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, officers responded to the report of the stopped vehicle and located the driver, according to a release from the OPP.
Jennifer Johns, of Kingston, Ontario, was subsequently arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing. She is facing the following charges:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
Johns was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee in July 2022. Her licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Johns will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
