We all need time to enjoy activities that nourish our hearts and minds. For many, that looks like a conversation with friends, paging through a book, or listening to an audiobook, according to Kingston Frontenac Public Library (KFPL).

KFPL’s Grownup Storytime combines all three, bringing you a live reader, great stories, and a chance to connect with other people online — and it’s back for six weeks starting January 10, 2022. As organizer Margi McKay says, “Why should kids have all the fun?”

The upcoming series will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. every Monday from January 10 to February 14. Participants can attend as many or as few sessions as they would like. KFPL notes that registering for one session automatically registers participants for the full six-week series.

KFPL suggests participants can have lunch, work on a hobby, or just sit and take a break from their busy day while listening to short stories or chapters from longer works. They invite participants to stay online and discuss the readings, too.

Registrants will receive an email later the same day with links to the KFPL catalogue so they can reserve both the sources of the day’s readings and other related titles they might enjoy, the library stated.

Register online for the whole six-week series at https://calendar.kfpl.ca/event/5890221 or by phone at (613) 549-8888. Signing up for any session will automatically register you for all subsequent sessions. Registrants will be emailed the link immediately upon registration and will need to download Zoom in advance. The library notes there will be a different Zoom link for each week.
