You love to read, and you love your dog — now you can enjoy both at the same time with Kingston Frontenac Public Library (KFPL)’s Books and Barks dog walking book club! Stroll with your furry friends and meet new ones while chatting about your latest reads.

“Books and Barks is a fantastic way to meet new people, spend time in nature and talk about books,” said Jake Miller, Librarian, Adult Programming. “Bring a comfy pair of shoes and some reading suggestions!”

According to a release from the library, the book club will meet on May 4, June 1, July 6 and August 3 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lemoine Point Conservation Area. Registration is required and can be completed at https://calendar.kfpl.ca or by calling 613-549-8888.

Participants will meet at the Cloverdale Drive park entrance and walk in small groups of three or four on Lemoine Point’s trails.

Per the City of Kingston Bylaw 2021-166, dogs must be kept on a leash when not on their owner’s property unless in a designated off-leash area, the library noted. There are no maximum leash lengths, and all dogs within the City of Kingston, including rural areas, must be licensed.
