Kingston residents can learn how to slash energy consumption, reduce utility costs and create a healthy living environment for themselves and their families, thanks to a collaboration between Sustainable Kingston and the Kingston Frontenac Public Library (KFPL).

The two local organizations are teaming up to offer a “practical and impactful” Improving Home Energy Efficiency series, according to a release from the library.

The first session introduces improving energy efficiency, with subsequent topics covering basement and foundation energy upgrades, attics and keeping heat in, and in-depth home retrofitting options, KFPL explained. Each session includes actionable strategies that save money and contribute to a more sustainable future for the community.

KFPL noted that registration is required for each date.

The sessions run as follows:

“Beyond practical benefits, this series offers an opportunity to connect with a community of like-minded individuals who share a commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility,” said Jake Miller, Librarian, Adult Services. “Through sharing experiences and resources, we support one another in the journey toward creating thriving, healthy and resilient communities for generations to come.”
