You love to read, and you love your dog — now you can enjoy both at the same time with Kingston Frontenac Public Library (KFPL)’s Books and Barks dog walking book club! Stroll with your furry friends and meet new ones while chatting about your latest reads.

According to a release from the library, Books and Barks is happening once a month from May through August, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lemoine Point. Attendees will walk in small groups of three or four.

“The library has always brought book enthusiasts together,” said Jake Miller, Librarian, Adult Programming. “Now we hope that people will bring their canine companions out for a dog walking book club! The world outdoors is opening back up and the weather is starting to break so this is a fantastic opportunity to reconnect.”

Trails may be messy if the ground is damp, so KFPL suggests bringing some durable footwear. In the case of inclement weather (i.e. rain, if the temperature or humidex surpasses 36°C, or if an air quality advisory has been issued), the session will be cancelled and participants will be notified. Unfortunately, KFPL said, they are not currently able to reschedule any cancelled sessions for a later date.

Registration for each session is required and space is limited. Participants can sign up at each of these links for each session, or call 613-549-8888.
