December is almost here, and the Kingston Frontenac Public Library (KFPL) is ready to “sleigh” the holiday season.
According to a release from the library, they are excited to offer a “flurry” of free and fun family activities that will make winter days merry and hearts as warm as a cup of cocoa.
“There’s ‘snow’ place like KFPL this December,” said Brianne Peters, Librarian of Children’s Services with KFPL.
“We believe in the gift of knowledge and are thrilled to offer a generous dose of holiday magic for free. Join us this winter season and discover that the library is where adventures begin, friends are made and memories are created.”
The following program details were provided by KFPL in the release:
On Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, Pick a Pine Tree and learn how tree decorating became one of the oldest holiday traditions. Get creative and make a pinecone ornament to share with loved ones. All supplies are included, and registration is required.
Our puppets will don their winter best on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, during a drop-in evening of puppetry and song at the Isabel Turner Branch. Bring the family for puppet shows ‘Bear Snores on’ and ‘Ask Mr. Polar Bear,’ starting at 6:30 p.m.
For young artists aged six and up, visit the Pittsburgh Branch on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, to create a winter watercolour scene. All painting materials included. Remember to register for this artistic adventure!
But wait, there’s more! Newborns and pre-walkers are included in the holiday fun. Register for Jingle Bell Babies on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, at the Calvin Park Branch. Parents and caregivers are in for a festive treat with heartwarming stories, songs, and rhymes.
The celebrations culminate on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, with drop-in Festive Family Storytime at the Isabel Turner and Calvin Park Branches, the perfect opportunity for families to come together and enjoy heartwarming holiday tales. You don’t want to be a Grinch and miss out on the fun!
