KFL&A region records ninth death from COVID-19

The Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington region has recorded its ninth death from COVID-19. The deceased died over the weekend and was a female in her 80s, according to provincial information.
This is the third death in KFL&A associated with COVID-19 this month, after a male in his 60s died on Tuesday, Nov. 23, and a female in her 70s died a day later.
According to provincial data, the diagnosis of COVID-19 was made on Nov. 10, 2021. KFL&A Public Health continue to investigate the method of transmission.
Today, KFL&A Public Health reported a total of 109 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, bringing the total of active COVID-19 cases to 301, a new high. According to KFL&A Public Health, as of Monday there were 23 local residents hospitalized with COVID-19, with nine of those in intensive care and six on ventilators. KFL&A Public Health registered six new outbreaks in the region.
Eight others have now died from COVID-19 in the region since the beginning of the pandemic: two males aged 90 or over, a male in his 80s, a female in her 80s, a male in his 70s, a female in her 70s, a male in his 60s, and a female in her 50s.
