KFL&A Public Health confirms 17 cases of COVID-19, releases details

There are now 17 positive cases of COVID-19 in the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (KFL&A) region, KFL&A Public Health has confirmed.
Until now, the details of cases 12 through 16 had not been disclosed officially. Kingstonist is now able to offer those details and the details of the newest case, case 17, announced on Friday, Mar. 27, 2020.
Cases number 12 through 14, which were announced on Wednesday, Mar. 25, 2020, are as follows:
Case 12 is female of an undisclosed age. It is unknown how the patient contracted the virus, but she is currently in self-isolation.
Case 13 is a female in her 30s. It is unknown how this patient contracted the virus, but she, too, is currently in self-isolation.
Case 14 is a female in her 50s who had contact with a positive case (someone who had recently travelled). She is currently in self-isolation.
Cases 15 and 16, which were announced on Thursday, Mar. 26, 2020, are as follows:
Case 15 is a female of an undisclosed age. It is unknown who the patient contracted the virus, and she is currently in self-isolation.
Case 16 is a female in her 20s who had contact with a positive case (someone who had recently travelled). She is currently in self-isolation.
And the case announced today, case 17, is a male in his 60s who had contact with a positive case (someone who had recently travelled). He is also currently self-isolating.
On Thursday, Mar. 26, 2020, the City of Kingston, all of Frontenac County, Loyalist Township, and Napanee – which are all within the KFL&A region – all made formal declarations of a state of emergency as it became apparently that community spread of coronavirus COVID-19 was occurring. On Friday, Mar. 27, the City of Kingston announced the closure of all public parks.
