The staff and Board of Directors of Kingston Community Credit Union (KCCU) have announced that their donation to the United Way KFL&A’s annual campaign helped the campaign surpass its 2021 goal.
KCCU staff and Board raised a total of $6,042 through their United Way workplace campaign this year, according to a release from KCCU. In addition, the Board of Directors voted to match 50 per cent of the funds raised and top up the total donation to $9,063.
These funds will go a long way in helping United Way KFL&A support many important agencies in doing the essential work needed to support disadvantaged members in our community, according to the release.
“KCCU strongly believes in building co-operative relationships with our members and our community,” the organization said. “For over 60 years, KCCU has made a positive impact on our local community with charitable giving, volunteerism, and financial education. We have a proud tradition of co-operative business ethics and a commitment to continually demonstrate our mission, vision, and values. As part of the credit union philosophy of People Helping People, KCCU is committed to building, strengthening, and enhancing the lives of those in our community.”
KCCU also said that they are very proud to have achieved 100 per cent staff participation in the workplace campaign for 42 straight years. According to the release, KCCU takes pride in setting a caring example for workplaces in Kingston and appreciates the generosity and commitment of their dedicated staff in supporting our community.
