Kasador to play The Ale House

Hometown boys Kasador are coming home, and they’re bringing friends.

The rock trio from here in Kingston are playing The Ale House Thursday, Jun. 30, 2022, with guests Brother Elsey and Boston Levi.

Kasador, with Brother Elsey and Boston Levi, will play The Ale House in downtown Kingston on Thursday, Jun. 30, 2022. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show is 19+.

Formed in 2015, Kasador has been through some serious evolutions over the years and got their start on the road before finally settling down to record their first album, Brood & Bloom, in 2019.

At the beginning of the pandemic, one of the founding members, Will Hunter, made the personal decision to leave the group, with no hard feelings and mutual understanding from the rest of the band.

The band recruited Jonas Lewis-Anthony, fellow Kingston-based musician and lead singer of The Wilderness, to join them on the road as a touring member of Kasador – at least for the time being and when schedules allow.

Heavily influenced by bands like Kings of Leon, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Clash, Weezer, and Canadian rock musicians from the 90s to now, Kasador have developed their own recipe of honest yet polished solid rock that is rooted in personal lyrics and driven by power chords.

Brother Elsey, a three-piece band from Detroit, Michigan, delivers a blend of dusty southern rock and endearing Americana, mixed with lyrics rife with brutal honesty and a critical view of the human spirit.

The band has been on tour with such notable acts as Lord Huron, The Paper Kites, The Glorious Sons, J Roddy Walston and the Business, and Corey Kilgannon.

Kasador’s other guest is not actually named Boston Levi; he’s a born and raised Perth boy who’s traded hockey skates for a guitar, at least for now.

After the global pandemic struck, Mike McNamee’s professional East Coast Hockey League career was put on hold. He spent some time looking inward, adopted the stage persona of Boston Levi, and began focusing on honing his craft as a musician. He has been working with Jay Emmons of The Glorious Sons to shape and perfect his sound, which pairs powerful, unique vocals with down to earth but insightful lyricism that is universally relatable and enjoyable.
