It’s no joke. Little Jerry Seinfeld is stopping by to perform in the Limestone City on June 26th. When news of the comic’s upcoming visit to the Limestone City broke on Twitter yesterday, people were so excited you would have thought that the adult equivalent of Justin Beiber was coming to town. I have to say that I am rather impressed that Kingston was able to attract Jerry, however you won’t catch me in the crowd unless by some miracle I come across free tickets. With the cost of admission ranging from $69 to $99 plus convenience fees, you really have to like Mr. Seinfeld to swallow that chocolate babka. Jerome isn’t the first big comedic name the K-Rock Centre has hosted, as both Russel Peters and Bill Cosby made an appearance within the last year or so. Those were reportedly well attended shows, but again you wouldn’t catch me paying top dollar for either Russel or the Cos, and I love live comedy. For me, the only big name comic I would pay top dollar to see is Chris Rock. Who knows, with the talent the KRC has been attracting as of late, maybe we’ll be able to get him here in the near future. In the meantime, Jerry Seinfeld is another small step in the right direction as a lot of people are expected to shell out. And in the end, that’s what matters most to critics of Kingston’s under-performing entertainment centre.
Special thanks to nb|photo for today’s outstanding shot of City Hall. Here comes the sun!
