Impaired G1 driver facing multiple charges

A single-vehicle collision on South Church Lane in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory has a G1 driver facing multiple charges including impaired driving.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an erratic driver that was involved in a single motor vehicle collision in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, where the vehicle entered and exited a ditch causing damage to the vehicle.
According to a release from the OPP, dated Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on Dundas Street near Green Street in Deseronto. Officers determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to Detachment for further processing by a Drug Recognition Expert Officer.
L&A County OPP have charged Robert Joseph Pammett, age 34, of Greater Napanee with:
- Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drug,
- Fail to comply with demand,
- Fail to surrender insurance Card,
- Litter on Highway,
- Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle,
- Fail to surrender licence, and
- Class G1 Licence holder unaccompanied by qualified driver.
Pammett was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on October 19, 2021. His licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. He will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
