Impaired driver on Sydenham Road facing multiple charges

A South Frontenac driver is facing impaired driving charges after being stopped by the Ontario Provincial Police for a traffic violation on Sydenham Road.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 20, 2022, officers of the South Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation on Sydenham Road in South Frontenac Township.
During the traffic stop, a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was conducted, OPP said in a media release. The driver was subsequently arrested and taken to the Frontenac Detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation Frontenac OPP have charged Bryce Marchen, age 22, of South Frontenac with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
Marchen was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on April 7, 2022. Their licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Marchen will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
