Impaired driver charged after single vehicle collision in Tyendinaga

An impaired driver left the scene of a collision in Tyendinaga Township and is now facing charges.
At approximately 7 a.m. on Sunday, Mar. 7, 2021, officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Melrose Road in Tyendinaga Township. Investigation revealed that a vehicle had entered a ditch and the driver left the scene, according to a release from OPP, dated Monday, Mar. 8, 2021.
OPP say police located the driver and during the investigation officers utilized an Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver was taken to the L&A County Detachment for further testing.
As a result, Bradley Clarence Thomas Fox, age 25, of Tyendinaga Township has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drug; and,
- Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 4, 2021. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Fox will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
